The BBC also have a selection of other reviews which, apart from Newsweek, all seem good:

It’s on 88% on rottentomatoes (100% with top critics), they count the newsweek review as postive:
There’s is a more complete list of reviews here although not all of them are RT critics, 67 positive and 3 negative ain’t bad.
The film is released in austrialia tomorrow and there are previews in america tonight, so we should have a stupidly high imdb rating tomorrow.
I can’t wait to see it, it looks amazing!
I know, it really does look awesome, doens’t it?! I think we could make a killing on that… though often the summer films are so well seen that we don’t actually benefit from it upon students’ return ![:frowning: :frowning:](https://discourse.warwick.film/images/emoji/apple/frowning.png?v=9)
The Dark Knight has, as predicted, shot into the imdb top 250 at a ridiculously high starting point… we’ll have to see where it ends up, but i’m guessing it’ll still be in the top 25 in a year or so.
The Dark Knight has set box office records in America:

Ă‚ÂŁ33.2m for our double showing? ![ ](https://discourse.warwick.film/images/emoji/apple/slight_smile.png?v=9)
Much though I am looking forward to it, this is a bit silly:
IMDB top 250:
- 9.5 The Dark Knight (2008) 23,611
- 9.1 The Godfather (1972) 288,072
- 9.1 The Shawshank Redemption (1994) 339,555
- 9.0 The Godfather: Part II (1974) 165,174
- 8.9 Buono, il brutto, il cattivo, Il (1966) 96,651
- 8.9 Pulp Fiction (1994) 291,736
- 8.8 Schindler’s List (1993) 194,359
- 8.8 One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975) 146,848
- 8.8 Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) 204,886
- 8.8 Casablanca (1942) 125,988
Once its settled down a bit though it should still be in the top 20 I think. Maybe even top 10.
Well, if we manage to fit 5m people in L3 for each showing, then yeah.
I reckon we should possibly make it a triple showing - or at least be prepared for an emergency extra showing on the next day…
The people and money keep on rolling in for it in the states - it’s now taken the record for the best opening weekend ever at the US box office, with a 3 day figure of £77.7million, surpassing Spiderman 3. The bit I can’t get over is that it’s “only” cost them £92.5m to make… it’s agonna be a huuuuuuuge money spinner for them.
Also interesting to see that by comparison, Batman Begins made £24.5million on its equivalent weekend, before taking a grand total of £186 million worldwide… not bad, for a bat
Hi all… just so you know… we’re probably going to do three screenings of the dark knight to accommodate its success - it’s still at number one on imdb, now with a rating of 9.5 (9.4 when scaled) and over 90 thousand votes :!:
