I didn’t mind Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull (controversial I know). The end was a little predictable but I didn’t have a fundamental problem with it (aliens don’t really seem any weirder to me than most other Indianna Jones things and it fit quite well with the change in tone from moving into the Cold War).
It was more the crappy CGI that jarred with me. Especially since Spielberg had stated they’d done as much with traditional effects as possible - obviously writing a script that didn’t call for below-computer-game-standard graphics was too much to handle!
