Probably not. Though the extra bit on the Japanese trailer does imply a Wrath of Khan restyle, I find it unlikely, because it’s just not the movie you remake if you don’t want to have your heart torn out by a true Klingon with his trusty bat’leth. Plus the stuff in the trailer gives off a Gary Mitchell vibe, so they say.
Also, no love for Scotty or Checkov in the trailer?
